We are proud to support Welcome Home in their mission to ensure that struggling families have access to the things they need to create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home.
Welcome Home provides families experiencing hardship with basic
household items they need to live with dignity. Founded in October of 2019, the company is the brainchild of Julie Plaut Mahoney, an elder care professional who realized that older adults downsizing or passing away were leaving behind households full of usable home goods.
Today Welcome Home, located on the ground level of Trinity Parish in Newton, collects and redistributes like-new household items to 800 families annually — with no fees, no forms, and no requirements. As Mahoney says: “It is our vision to see that everyone who contacts Welcome Home receives the essential kitchen, bath, bedding, and additional items they need to turn any house into their home.”
Welcome home accepts new and gently used home goods in good working condition. All appliances should be in working condition. If dropping off sheets, please make sure they are clean, folded, and labeled with their sizes. Please don't bring items with stains, tears or chips.
